The Seasons of Life
I watched “The Seasons of Life” video about a year ago. This morning, I got the video link from my spiritual mother’s email. It is such a blessing to watch it again to refresh my mind. I feel my spirit is lifted up and I am full of determination of my destiny.
Our life represents the characteristics of the four seasons in nature. There are times when you are faced with cold, hard, stormy weather in your life. There are also times when you can make a new fresh start and grow. You can’t give up in the winter of your life because you could miss the promise of your spring, the beauty of your summer and the harvest of your autumn. King Solomon said, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Read More…
The Magic QR Code
Not long ago I bought an orchid from Home Depot. On the product tag, there is a barcode full of maze-like black and white squares. On the tag, it says, “Take a picture of this code with your smartphone for instant access to helpful information about JustAddIce Orchids.” What is it? It is a QR code! I downloaded the QR code reader as instructed. Then I scanned the QR code and instantly had access to the orchid video on my iPhone. It is amazingly easy and quick. It works like a magic!
What is a QR Code?
A QR code (or Quick Response code) is a
two-dimensional code that is readable by camera-enabled smartphones like iphone and blackberry with QR reader installed. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background.
The QR code was created by Denso-Wave, a Toyota subsidiary, back in 1994 to track inventory during manufacturing. It is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional barcodes. Unlike the traditional linear one-dimensional barcode (which can only hold a limited number of digits), the QR code can hold a lot more alphanumeric characters of information. The information encoded may be text, URL, image or other types of data. Read More…

Cute Baby Robin Outside My Window - Watch This Baby Robin Video
Have you ever watched baby robin hatching and growing to a young robin bird? If you haven’t, you are going to love this cute baby robin video.
The robin bird is one of the most popular birds in North America. You can easily spot several robin birds in your backyard or parks. They normally nest in trees. I guess June is the season for baby robin hatching.
Early this month, I found a robin nest with four beautiful blue eggs outside our bathroom window on the 2nd floor. The mother robin diligently sat on the nest. She only went out for a couple of short breaks a day. On June 18th, three baby robins were born. The baby robins looked very fragile with no feathers and bulging eyes closed. Their skin was transparent and I could see the translucent skull with blue veins and organs. One baby robin opened its yellow beak widely looking for food. The last baby robin was born on the next morning.
The mother robin still sat on the nest during the evening warming her new born baby robins with little fluffy. I observed the mother robin go out very early in the morning looking for worms to feed her baby robins. Sometimes, she brought back an earthworm. Sometimes, she brought back a little red cherry. I could hear the baby robins’ noises when the mother came back with the delicious food.
It takes 14 days or so for the baby robins to grow a full body covering of feathers, with bright and sparkling eyes. I videotaped the baby robins from hatching to growing into a young robin bird. For both my daughter and I, it was a such a precious experience to witness this amazing transformation!
You are welcome to watch this cute baby robin video with your kids and share it with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
